Ulisses, famosa figura da mitologia grega, era filho de Laertes, rei de Ítaca, e de Anticleia, filha do herói Díocles. Fingiu-se louco para evitar que o mandassem tomar parte na Guerra de Tróia, mas acabou por fazer parte do grupo de gregos que entraram em Tróia no gigantesco cavalo de madeira, o que permitiu também a entrada dos soldados gregos através da abertura feita na muralha para dar passagem ao dito cavalo, que não cabia em nenhuma das portas da cidade. Voltando a Ítaca, passou muitos perigos na sua viagem marítima, em luta permanente contra a sua má sorte. Naufragou na Ilha de Circe, de onde acabou por sair para ter um novo naufrágio junto da Ilha dos Ciclopes, onde foi aprisionado com os seus companheiros. Ulisses acabou também por perder todas as naus da sua frota, conseguindo, todavia, salvar-se numa prancha e chegar, de novo, a Ítaca. O seu estado era tão miserável que ninguém o reconheceu mas consegue aproximar-se de novo da sua família. Resultante da sua grande valentia e destreza e em virtude dos valiosos serviços prestados à pátria, Ulisses foi declarado semi-deus.

O CERCO DE TRÓIA

A maioria de gregos clássicos admitia que a Guerra de Tróia era um evento histórico, embora muitos entendessem que os poemas homéricos continham vários exageros. Por exemplo, o historiador Tucídides, conhecido por seu espírito crítico, considerava-a um evento real, mas duvidava que os gregos houvessem mobilizado a quantidade de navios (mais de mil) mencionada por Homero, para atacar os troianos.
Por volta de 1870, na Europa, os estudiosos da Antiguidade eram concordes em considerar as narrativas homéricas absolutamente lendárias. Segundo eles, a guerra jamais ocorrera e Tróia nunca existira. Mas quando o alemão Heinrich Schliemann (um apaixonado pelas obras de Homero) descobriu as ruínas de Tróia e de Micenas, foi preciso reformular esses conceitos.
Ao longo do século XX, tentou-se tirar conclusões baseadas em textos hititas e egípcios, que datam da provável época da guerra. Arquivos hititas, como as Cartas de Tawagalawa, mencionam o reino de Ahhiyawa (Acaia ou Grécia), que se localizava "além do mar" (Egeu) e controlava a cidade de Milliwanda, identificada como Mileto. Igualmente é mencionado, nesses e em outros documentos, a Confederação de Assuwa, uma liga composta por 22 cidades, uma das quais, Wilusa (Ilios ou Ilium), pode ter sido Tróia. Em um tratado datado de 1280 a.C., o rei de Wilusa é chamado de Alaksandu, ou seja, Alexandre, que é o outro nome pelo qual Páris é referido na Ilíada.

Ulisses e o Ciclope Polifemo

Depois de dias de navegação sem rumo Ulissses e os seus companheiros chegam a uma ilha. À procura de comida entram numa caverna. De repente um gigante só com um olho na testa entra com o seu rebanho e fecha a caverna com um rochedo. É o ciclope Polifemo. Ao acender o fogo vê as sombras dos marinheiros pergunta-lhes quem são e onde está o seu navio. Ulisses diz-lhe que naufragaram e pede-lhe hospitalidade. Polifemo está furioso e ameaça que os vai comer. Ulisses oferece-se para ser seu criado e diz-lhe que se chama “Ninguém”. Polifemo diz-lhe que será o último a ser comido. Ulisses serve-lhe vinho até o embebedar. Depois de comer alguns marinheiros e de beber uma grande quantidade de vinho, cansado como estava, deita-se e adormece. É altura de agir. Ulisses procura um galho de carvalho, afia-o e endurece-o no fogo. Depois, atira-o contra o olho do ciclope, cegando-o. Polifemo acorda cheio de dores. Polifemo grita tanto que os outros ciclopes da ilha se dirigem para a sua gruta para saberem o que se passa. Retiram a pedra da entrada e ao perguntarem a Polifemo quem lhe tinha feito mal, quem o quer matar, ele só respondia “Ninguém”. Os ciclopes achando que ele estava louco abandonam-no. Ulisses sabe que o gigante só vai deixar sair as ovelhas para que possam pastar. Os marinheiros prendem-se à barriga das ovelhas e conseguem enganar o ciclope que as vai apalpando à medida que passam. Ulisses é o último a passar, agarrado, com as próprias mãos, à ovelha mais lãzuda que conseguiu encontrar. Polifemo, cego como está, não consegue impedir Ulisses e os marinheiros de fugir e seguir viagem.

A DEUSA CALIPSO

Calipso (do grego antigo Καλυψώ) na mitologia grega é uma ninfa do mar.

Odisseu e Calipso
Segundo alguns autores seria filha de Oceano e de Tétis, vivia em uma gruta, na encosta de uma montanha na ilha de Ogígia. A entrada da sua morada era cercada por um bosque sagrado, onde havia uma fonte, também sagrada. Para outros, seria filha de Atlas e Plêione, ou mesmo ainda de Hélios e Perse.
Os seus filhos mais importantes eram Áuson, Nausítoo e Nausínoo e Latino.
Sendo uma das deusas fiandeiras, era um poderosa feiticeira e trazia em si o poder da vida e da morte.
No texto da Odisséia, atribuído a Homero, quando Ulisses (Odisseu) naufragou na costa da sua ilha, Calipso acolheu-o em sua morada e por ele se apaixonou. Passava os dias a tecer e a fiar, e neste tempo insistia em seduzí-lo, oferecendo-lhe inclusive a imortalidade se aceitasse ficar com ela para sempre.
O herói, entretanto, resistia, sem conseguir esquecer a sua pátria, a sua esposa (Penélope) e seu filho. Passados sete anos, após os quais Poseidon acalmara a sua ira, Zeus, compadecido, enviou Hermes até à presença de Calipso com ordem para que a mesma libertasse o seu hóspede. Desse modo, mesmo contra a sua vontade, ela forneceu os recursos para que Ulisses construísse uma jangada, deu-lhe provisões e assegurou-lhe vento favorável para o caminho de volta ao lar.
Na obra Telêmaco, de Fenélon, encontram-se narradas as aventuras do filho de Ulisses à procura do pai. Ele também chegou à ilha de Ogígia e Calipso também tentou retê-lo com as mesmas promessas. Mas, Minerva o acompanhava na forma de Mentor e ajudou-o a resistir à tentação.

Homero (em grego, Ὅμηρος - Hómēros, na transliteração) foi o primeiro grande poeta grego cuja obra chegou até nós. Teria vivido no século VIII a.C., período coincidente com o ressurgimento da escrita na Grécia. Consagrou o género épico com as obras Ilíada e Odisséia. Além destas, mas sem respaldo histórico ou literário, são a ele atribuídas as obras Margites, poema cômico a respeito de um herói trapalhão; a Batracomiomaquia, paródia burlesca da Ilíada que relata uma guerra fantástica entre ratos e rãs, e os Hinos homéricos.

Biografia de Eça de Queirós.

De nome completo José Maria Eça de Queirós, nasceu na cidade da Póvoa de Varzim a 25 de Novenbro de 1895.
No ano de 1861, maticulou-se na Faculdade de Direito de Coimbra, mantendo-se quase despercebido aos Corofeus do realismo (Antero, Teofilo e Vieira de Castro).
Nesse ano, tanbém estagiou na Cidade do Lis, arquitectando aí o Crime do Padre Amaro. Em 1875, foi transferido para Inglaterra onde escreveu O Primo Basílio e começou a pensar n'OS Maias, n' O Mandarim e a n' A Relíquia. Durante este tempo, manteve correspondência entre os jornais portugeses e brasileiros.
Nove anos dpois casou com a fidalga D.Maria Emília de Castro.
Veio a morrer em Paris, no ano de 1900.

No dia 28 de Maio, a nossa turma levou a cabo a representação do texto dramático para alunos do 1º ciclo do nosso agrupamento.
Depois de semanas de ensaios com muito interesse e empenho à mistura, conseguimos subir ao palco da nossa escola e mostrar a um público atento e partipativo os nossos dotes de actores.
Aquilo que mais me marcou neste trabalho foi a forma como terminou a história, mostrando-nos o que é amizade e como é possível ser-se amigo de pessoas diferentes de nós.
Para mim, o momento mais marcante foi quando as crianças da escola EB1 do Cerco cantaram para todos uma canção sobre o mesmo texto - O Aquário, de João Pedro Mésseder.
